Who will take over on the podium in Fällfors after Hansson, Lindland and Kristoffersson?

When the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia returns to Drivecenter Arena in Fällfors 17-18 June, it is already clear that the audience and TV viewers will see a new race winner on the 4.2 km long track.

No one in the current starting field has won a race during the two visits the championship made to the facility in Skellefteå municipality. Not even four-time champion Lukas Sundahl has been at the top of the podium in the Midnight Sun Race. Yet. When Drivecenter Arena was inaugurated in front of a large audience in the summer of 2019, the heat winners were Robin Hansson and Roar Lindland. The following year, guest driver Johan Kristoffersson won twice. As you know, no one in the trio participates in this year's championship, which leaves the field open for one, or two, new race winners on Scandinavia's longest race track.

Who are the hottest winning candidates then? Looking at previous starts at Drivecenter Arena, Lukas Sundahl is in a good position. Even though the Smålander has not really achieved that yet in Västerbotten, his result is of a high class. In 2019, Sundahl was, despite qualifiers, second in both races. In the rain competition the following year, he had to settle for a third and a sixth place.

Pontus Fredricsson is another possible victory candidate. The Stockholmer has a fine placement line 3-4-4-3 at Drivecenter Arena. In the second race in 2019, which Fredricsson started from pole position, he was victorious when a collision with teammate Robin Hansson spoiled all chances of winning.

Hampus Ericsson, who leads this year's championship after two second places in the premiere at Scandinavian Raceway in Anderstorp, has also competed at Drivecenter Arena twice. In 2019, he made his debut in the championship in Fällfors. Ericsson drove Porsche Sweden's guest car and that he was only the 17th man in the qualifiers due to a puncture, he was responsible for two very strong races. In the second, he advanced all the way to sixth place.
2020, which was Ericsson's first full season in the championship, he was noted for fifth and seventh place in the Norrland competition.
We guess he is aiming much higher this time.

The Midnight Sun Race - by Porsche Center Umeå will be decided at Drivecenter Arena 17-18 June. The competition is the second for the year in both the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia.
