Will Aspin keen to build on winning ways as penultimate Porsche weekend approaches
Will Aspin returns to Porsche Carrera Cup GB action this weekend (September 20-22), as the series’ penultimate meeting takes place on the Silverstone National circuit.
The British/Italian racer claimed victory in the Pro-Am class last time out and, with a pair of podiums at Thruxton before the summer break, is keen to carry the positive form into the final four races of the 2024 season.
The 1.640-mile (2.639 km) layout provides little to no respite behind the wheel, with the field lapping in just over 50 seconds, for an average speed of more than 108 miles per hour. Featuring just six turns, three of which can yield overtaking opportunities, the two 30-lap races will be closely fought throughout.
That means that qualifying will once again be vital, though Will has proved his ability at the circuit – last year finishing up sixth quickest of anyone, converting that to a class podium finish in his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.
He and his Eden Race Drive teammates will have a test day to dial themselves in, followed by two practice sessions on Friday, September 20th. Qualifying is due to take place at 13:40 the following day, with the two races scheduled for 10:00 and 15:00 – the second of which will be shown live on ITV4 in the United Kingdom and worldwide via ITV Sport on TikTok.

“Winning at Donington Park builds a lot of confidence for the final few races, especially after two podiums at Thruxton and Donington Park. I am looking forward to the weekend at Silverstone and building on the results that we have been able to achieve recently. Everyone at Eden Race Drive works hard and there’s so much knowledge in the team that all of us have the tools to succeed. Silverstone National is a short lap, with only a few corners, so we need to maximise everything to come away with some trophies.”
