Florian Latorre (CLRT), Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer (BWT Lechner Racing) and Marvin Klein (CLRT) have alreday been labeled favorites heading into the start of the 2021 season. Long in contention for the final victory last season, before finishing third, fourth and fifth respectively in the final standings, the three men will certainly be among the great animators in the peloton of fifteen Pro drivers listed for this new edition of the Porsche Carrera Cup France. But Victor Weyrich (Pierre Martinet by Alméras), the outgoing Rookie champion, will also want to get involved in the title fight, as will Victor Blugeon, now spearhead of ABM, a new Annecian team, Evan Spenle (MRT by CLRT) or Richard Wagner (BWT Lechner Racing).

It's up to all of them to make the most of the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup type 992, the wide-track Turbo features and the famous atmospheric flat-six Porsche Cup car that now delivers no less than 510 horsepower. Thirty-one years after the first version of the 911 Cup, then based on the 964, Porsche engineers have set the bar even higher, to increase its performance level, offer it a more aggressive look and improve its balance and reliability. A cocktail that should delight the teams and drivers, and reserve new superb confrontations on the track.

A notable change from last year is Marvin Klein who has joined the Como Ledogar team, he has replaced by a major recruit at Martinet by Alméras, in the person of Dorian Boccolacci, who will lead a contingent of six Rookies, also strong of Ugo Gazil (Pierre Martinet by Alméras), Arthur Mathieu Spark (Y. Motorsport), Thomas Fretin (Ydeo Competition), Alessandro Ghiretti (Martinet) , the Junior Porsche Carrera Cup France 2021 and Milan Petelet (ABM), also finalists in the latest edition of the detection operation dear to Porsche France. Recently converted to the GT after having long distinguished himself as a single-seater, Dorian Boccolacci will certainly be a customer for the 2021 vintage of a Porsche Carrera Cup France that continues to improve over the years. This is evidenced by the significant presence of Italian teams (Krypton Motorsport, Ombra Racing, EF Racing) this season.

Winner of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy in 2018, and back in France after a first attempt in 2019, Gianmarco Quaresmini (Ombra Racing) will undoubtedly be to watch, like his compatriot Enrico Fulgenzi (EF Racing), also former winner of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy (2013), whose tenacity earns him the nickname "Dobermann".

The battle will also be fiercely contested in Pro-Am where Nicolas Misslin (BWT Lechner Racing), the three-time outgoing champion, puts his crown back in play, this time under the same colors. In front of him, his toughest opponent to date, Christophe Lapierre, spent this year with Pierre Martinet by Alméras, but also Jérôme Boullery (Ydeo Competition), Luca Pastorelli (Krypton Motorsport), François Lansard (MRT by CLRT), the outgoing Am champion, and a returner in the person of Henry Hassid (MRT by CLRT). Finally, Franck Leherpeur (CLRT), Maxence Maurice (Imsa Performance) and Tugdual Rabreau (CLRT) will try to capitalize on the experience gained last season to try to get the best, on newcomers Gabriele Marotta (EF Racing) and Benoit Fretin (Ydeo Competition). One thing is certain for all these drivers: they are all very eager to be at Magny-Cours on April 7th and 8th to discover, and push the limits of their new 911 GT3 Cup type 992!
