David Jahn secures the Pirelli Pole Position Award

The pilot from AVIA W&S Motorsport dominated qualifying for round one of the ADAC GT4 Germany on the Circuit Zandvoort in the Porsche. Vehicles from four brands in the first four places.

David Jahn (32/Leipzig, AVIA W&S Motorsport) was unbeatable in qualifying for Saturday's race in the ADAC GT4 Germany. In the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, the former ADAC GT Masters driver lapped the race track in Zandvoort in 1:41.102 minutes. "Of course I'm very happy. Pole position was also my goal today because I knew that we were in a really good position,” said a beaming Jahn, who will start the race with Jannes Fittje (23/Langenhain). "It was my first timed lap of the session - and it just fitted perfectly."

For the fastest qualifying lap, Jahn also received the Pirelli Pole Position Award from Matteo Braga (Pirelli Circuit Activities Manager). Second place went to Mercedes-AMG GT4 driver Marcel Lenerz (25, DEU, BCMC Motorsport powered by EastSide Motorsport), who was 0.914 seconds behind. Lenerz contests the race together with Denis Bulatov (24/Cologne).

The third fastest driver in qualifying was Daniel Gregor (17/Maikammer) in another Porsche from AVIA W&S Motorsport. Finn Zulauf's team-mate (18, DEU) was 0.984 seconds behind. Fourth was the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of reigning champions Hugo Sasse (19, GER) and Mike David Ortmann (23, GER, both Prosport Racing). Ortmann, who contested the qualification, lost 1.131 seconds to the top. The top five was completed by the Mercedes-AMG of the current championship leaders Jan Philipp Springob (22, DEU) and Simon Primm (18, DEU, both CV Performance Group).

This lays the foundation for an exciting race. The first race of the ADAC GT4 Germany will start on Saturday at 10:15 a.m. and will be broadcast live on SPORT1 on free TV. "Of course, when you start at the front you want to finish the race in first place," clarified pole setter Jahn. “Compared to Oschersleben, we have also improved in terms of race pace. We'll see if it's enough to win. I think it will be a really exciting race.”
