Fifth round of the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse: Mugello (Italy)

The two GT3 Cup classification races of the fifth weekend of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Suisse season ended with surprise victories for Alexander Schwarzer. The Porsche Racing Experience graduate won the sprint race at the Mugello Circuit ahead of championship leader Johannes Kapfinger.

In the Class 1 Endurance competition for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Schwarzer retained the upper hand against Gregor Burkard and William Mezzetti. In the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, Alexandre Mottet drove to victory in the Sprint race, while Remo Stebler secured maximum points in the Endurance race. Michael Kapfinger, Johannes' twin brother, won the Open GT group on the 5.245-kilometer Formula 1 track near the Tuscan metropolis of Florence ahead of Dustin Blattner from the USA.

Both drove a current 911 GT3 Cup with racing ABS. Third place went to Ashish Patel in the 992-generation 911 GT3 R. Together with Dieter Svepes, Michael Kapfinger had to give way to Sebastian Schmitt and Dominik Schraml in the Endurance race. In the Classic classification of the Porsche Drivers Competition Suisse, there was no way around Xavier Penalba at Mugello, while Nicolas Garski celebrated two successes in the Chrono class.
