Team Parker Racing had a winning visit to Croft in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB as Kiern Jewiss claimed an overall victory, while Justin Sherwood and Justin Armstrong also took a win apiece in the Am class.

In Pro-Am, Ryan Ratcliffe maintained his lead in the standings with a pair of podiums, but it was a tougher weekend for Harry King who took contact in race one which dropped him down the order and then collected a tyre that another driver had dislodged in race two, which ended his contest.

Harry made a flying start to race one, getting third from Will Martin but then took some heavy contact at the hairpin as Martin tried to regain the place, which caused a puncture, though he was able to pit behind the Safety Car to change it, dropping to the rear of the field. After the Safety Car, Justin Armstrong lost the rear of his machine going into Tower Bend, spinning but keeping out of the barriers, he faught back to pass Marcus Fothergill for third on the final lap, while Justin Sherwood marched towards his third-straight title with the win.

Harry also fought back, climbing from 17th to eighth, but was handed a five-second time penalty for track limit offences, which dropped him back to 12th. Kiern finished fourth, right behind Martin, while Ryan claimed second in Pro-Am, outscoring title rival Micah Stanley in the process.

Starting second for race two, Kiern held position and assumed the lead when Lorcan Hanafin hit the temporary tyre stacks at the chicane, breaking his suspension, but when Martin also hit tyres at Sunny Out, one dropped onto the racing line and was collected by Harry, causing damage which also put him out of the race from fourth.

Kiern defended brilliantly from Dan Cammish for the entire race, taking his third win of the season, while in the Am class Justin Armstrong had a brilliant start and held Justin Sherwood at bay for his second win in the series. In Pro-Am Ryan fought his way past Stanley en route to third, extending his lead to 15 points with six races to run.

The team has a quick turnaround as they will be at Silverstone on Wednesday, September 23 for an official Porsche test, before heading into free practice on Friday. Qualifying is due to take place at 14:00 on Saturday, with two 28-lap races set for 09:35 and 15:00 on Sunday, September 26, with the latter shown live on ITV4.

“Practice was all right and then qualifying was same old stuff – we never get out of it what we want, and we were three tenths up in qualifying and caught traffic in the last corner, so it is a bit disappointing because starting on the front row is very, very different to starting fifth.

“It was a bit unfortunate in the first race, where I massively struggled with the balance of the car. Every time you think you get somewhere with it you take two steps backwards. Race two was good. You could see we were nowhere near the fastest car on the track, but I managed to drag it around and put a defending masterclass on from Dan. I think Lorcan having the off has kept our championship alive. Dan is still very, very quick and he always will be, let's just see what we can do. We’ll just keep pushing forward.”

Harry King G1 – 4, R1 – 12 G2 – 12, R2 – DNF
Championship: 6 (49 points)

“The weekend started off very strong. In Friday practice we were P2 by less than half a tenth, so I had high expectations, I was motivated, and I gelled back with the 991 car again. Everything was looking up and then in qualifying I made a little error on my second tyre run which is when the track evolution really came. We didn't quite get the benefit that we should have, but we made the most of it in the race.

“We got up to third position, and then the car in fourth decided that it wanted to give us a bit of damage and push their way past us, which ultimately ended up sacrificing our race. We had to pit for a new tyre and the driver got a three-place grid penalty.

“Race two was frustrating. I’d dispatched seven cars in one lap, but you can’t take the blame when the tyre stack is hit by the car in front and put in your way. The pace we had in the race was looking promising. The fact we go straight to Silverstone next weekend is good as it means we can get right back on track, and as a young driver who is supported by the BRDC through the SuperStars programme, it is always special to get the chance to race at the 'Home of British Motorsport'.”

Ryan Ratcliffe G1 – 4, R1 – 2 G2 – 2, R2 – 3
Pro-Am Championship: 1 (83 points)

“Free practice one and two went to plan. We didn't do any new running, so we just stayed on used tyres for the whole of the sessions. The pace was quite good against everyone else, so we were happy with that. I spent majority of Saturday morning, as we had so much time, going through Kiern and Harry's data to try and squeeze the most out of qualifying but I ruined that by driving at the barriers. I think that's probably one of the first mistakes and crashes I've made because of my own doing in a long time.

“Race one was good, I had a really good start. Justin [Sherwood] had a good start as well, so I didn't manage to get past him, but a couple of people in front bogged down or stalled, so we managed to get past those straightaway and then I got past Justin. I was able to hunt down the rest of the Pro-Am runners. I was behind Rainford for a lot of it, managed to get past him at the hairpin up the inside and then got my head down and started chasing Bratt and Harrison in front. I got into a really good rhythm, I could see I was catching them, and the pace was strong, and the Safety Car came out which put an end to that. I did manage to catch them, but there wasn't really much I could do.

“Race two wasn’t my best performance. They were all queuing up on the inside at turn one, so I thought it was a wise move to go around the outside and it didn't work out very well. I went through the gravel, took my splitter off, and had chronic understeer for the whole race. [Micah] Stanley got past me and then he spun which was like a blessing from God, because he's second in the championship and I'm trying to get as many points on him every weekend as I can, so to finish in front of him is great. Not my best race but a good result nonetheless.”

Justin Sherwood G1 – 1, R1 – 1 G2 – 1, R2 – 2
Am Championship: 1 (109 points)

“I missed the pre-season test that the other lads did, but first practice went really well. Qualifying wasn’t the best lap, but it was obviously decent, and it was enough for the pole in Am, although I'd like to have been a bit closer to the frontrunners’ pace.

“I got a cracking start to race one. There was a couple of stallers in front, so we had to avoid them and then, to be honest, the race was a bit of a struggle. The car was oversteering quite a bit and we had a couple of Pros and Pro-Ams coming back through. Justin [Armstrong] was right on my rear bumper, but then he unfortunately had a spin and then Josh Stanton was pushing me hard, and it wasn't till the last couple of laps I really had a gap on him. It was great for the win, but it was tough.

“I didn't get the greatest start for race two and Justin got a rocket start and got in front on the run down to the first corner. I was running with him for a bit, then got a couple of taps off Josh, and then he spun. We were running nose to tail, and I didn't really put myself in a position to have a go. I lost a bit of pace mid-race and then came back towards the end and made another mistake and had to settle for second. It's great for Justin to win.”

Justin Armstrong G1 – 2, R1 – 3 G2 – 3, R2 – 1
Am Championship: 2 (77 points)

“It's been it's been quite a challenge at a track I normally like. I just think we've struggled with getting what we want out of the car. In Qualifying it seemed to be that everybody made a jump of about four to five tenths from FP2 on Friday. Justin [Sherwood] made a one second jump and I made a one tenth jump, so that reversed us.

“It was frustrating in race one. The car felt a bit unbalanced and snatched a rear into Tower. There was no damage, but I ended up facing the wall after spinning. I had a bit of a recovery from there and I gained an awful lot – I was behind the pack and managed to overtake the car that was in third on the last lap to salvage a few points.

“Race two was all about the first 200 meters. I got a great start as the car hooked up really well. We made a few changes between race one and race two and the car was much, much better, much more drivable, and once we got a lap one out of the way it was just about managing the gap. I kept an eye on the mirrors to see where he was, there was no point in pushing any harder, so we managed the gap and I’m really pleased with the win. Justin is always consistent, so you know if you make a mistake, he's going to have you. Luckily, this time, I didn't make a mistake so I'm happy with the win.”
