Richardson Racing confirms dual Porsche programme for 2023 campaign

Richardson Racing can today confirm exciting plans that will see it run a dual Porsche Carrera Cup programme during the 2023 season, whilst also making a maiden appearance in the most prestigious Porsche series in the world.

The Northamptonshire-based team will return to Carrera Cup GB with a multi-car programme for a fourth successive season looking to build on a fine 2022 campaign that saw it secure the Teams’ championship title for the first time.

Alongside that, the team will also embark on a new programme in Carrera Cup Benelux, which will see the team competing on track in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Austria.

Capping what promises to be an exciting season on track, the team will also make its debut in the Formula 1-supporting Mobil 1 Porsche Supercup during the British Grand Prix meeting at Silverstone in July.

In a bid to fight for championship honours on two fronts this season, the team will field an exciting, youthful line-up comprising of Robert De Haan and Micah Stanley.

Rob first joined the team in 2021 for his first year of car racing, securing three race wins en-route to the Rookie title - and a top four overall finish - in the Ginetta Junior Championship.

After a season away racing in Spanish F4, Rob returned to Richardson Racing colours earlier this year as the team embarked on a new challenge in the inaugural Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe, with the Dutch racer storming to the championship title in dominant fashion.

Despite just two days of testing beforehand, Rob scored pole position for every race and secured four race wins from six starts to grab a maiden Porsche title at the first attempt - and will now bid to carry that front-running form into what promises to be the biggest season of his racing career to date.

Micah meanwhile joins the team for what will be his third season in the fastest one-make series in the UK, whilst he will be making his debut in the Benelux championship.

The 22-year-old - who holds dual British/German nationality - was a regular inside the top ten in Carrera Cup GB last year as he stepped up into the Pro category for the first time, having been entered in Pro-Am for his debut campaign twelve months earlier.

There, Micah secured four class wins and five further podium finishes to take second in the class standings whilst also regularly dicing with the Pro class field.

A busy season on track for the team will kick off with the opening meeting of the GB season at Donington Park on the weekend of 22/23 April, with the Benelux programme kicking off a week later at Spa Francorchamps as part of the support package for the World Endurance Championship.

Outings at iconic venues like Hockenheim, Zandvoort and Zolder will follow before the curtain comes down on the team’s 2023 programme at the famous Brands Hatch GP circuit in early October.

"After a title-winning season in Carrera Cup GB last year and a dominant championship victory in Sprint Challenge Southern Europe, we’re excited to announce our plans for 2023," team manager Andrew Richardson said.

"We have big plans for the coming seasons to establish ourselves on the international stage, and the decision to enter the Benelux series alongside Carrera Cup GB is the next step towards that.

"Next year we intend to turn our guest entry in the Porsche Supercup into a full season campaign, so the chance to join the grid at Silverstone will provide us with the opportunity to really show what we can do.

"Having already proven a point with the way we dominated the Sprint Challenge Southern Europe, we’re excited to see what the rest of 2023 holds and know that in Rob and Micah, we have two young, quick drivers who are capable of fighting at the front during the year ahead."
