The top class of the Belcar Endurance Championship and therefore also of the 45th edition of the 24 Hours of Zolder is the GTA class. In that class we also find the ten Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 –, entered by no less than seven different teams and with many great names behind the wheel of the various German cars. The teams with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – have a good chance of winning the overall victory in the 45th edition of the 24 Hours of Zolder and of course they will also fight for victory in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux. A troop review ensues.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – has already made an impression in just two years in what is arguably one of the toughest 24-hour races in Europe. Circuit Zolder offers man and machine few moments of rest and cars that meet after 24 hours without any problems can take on long races all over the world.

In 2021, RedAnt Racing was the first team to take on such a challenge with a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – and the team was immediately good for a win in the GTA class and the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux, in addition to a strong fourth place overall. A year later, many more identical Porsches were at the start and places two to six were taken by Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992. Q1 Trackracing won the battle in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux and finished just five minutes from the overall victory at Circuit Zolder.

With ten for one victory
It goes without saying that both Redant Racing and Q1 Trackracing can be counted among the absolute top favorites for the 45th edition of the 24 Hours of Zolder. The team from Lochristi of the Redant family of entrepreneurs is deploying no less than three identical Porsches, with particular attention being paid to the example of the farmers Yannick and Ayrton Redant, together with permanent Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux value Sam Dejonghe and the promising Kobe De Breucker. "It goes without saying that they man our fast car, in addition to one car driving for the championship and one car with myself, but also Steve Vanbellingen, Dirk Van Rompuy and Luc Vanderfeesten, where we as racing entrepreneurs combine fun and performance," said team owner Bert Redant.

At Q1 Trackracing they count on two very strong teams. Jan Lauryssen, second last year and winner of the last Belcar race, can count on the support of the two-time Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux champion and former winner of the 24 Hours, Xavier Maassen, but also John De Wilde and Dirk Schouten. Filip Teunkens, Jan Ooms, Glenn Paenen and Quentin Antonel are in the other car of the Limburg team.

And what about winners of last year's race, PK Carsport? They also opt for Porsche, with seven-time winner Bert Longin, son Stienes Longin, Peter Guelinckx and reigning champion in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, Dylan Pereira.

Under the care of NGT Racing we also find two contenders for success, with in the colors of Russell Racing by NGT the identical quintet that won the race in 2017: Christoff Corten, Jeffrey Van Hooydonck, Hans Thiers, Frank Thiers and Gilles Magnus. This team is also the reigning champion in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux. Needless to say, they don't want to be inferior to anyone. In the Porsche in the colors of AUGUST by NGT we also see beautiful and fast names, with Nico Verdonck, Rodrigue Gillion, Glenn van Parijs, Thomas Laurent and Nicolas Saelens, who won last year.

And then we come to Belgium Racing, which won the race in Limburg no less than four times in a row between 2013 and 2016, a record that still stands rock solid. Four-time winner Dylan Derdaele calls on the services of Michael Cool, Koen Wauters and Jos Menten for a fifth victory.

Last but not least, there is the permanent value Speedlover, with Olivier Dons, Kurt Hensen, Pieter Ooms, Wim Meulders and Jürgen Van Hover.

Let's reiterate that we also see two Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 in the GTB class.

The 24 Hours of Zolder will start on Wednesday 23 August with a parade from the circuit to the center of Heusden-Zolder (3.30 pm), while all training and qualifying sessions will be held on Thursday 24 August. The battle for the best starting places starts at 7:00 PM with the Superpole. By the way, access to the circuit is free on Thursday. The race itself will take place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 August.
