Top Ten result for Simona De Silvestro and Klaus Bachlert

After several setbacks, Simona De Silvestro and Klaus Bachler made it into the top 10 at the ADAC GT Masters at the Sachsenring. In Saturday's race, the duo finished seventh and thus secured the second-best position of the current season. Sven Müller and Robert Renauer finished in the points after an eventful race on Sunday.

“It's nice that things went according to plan and we weren't unlucky,” says Simona De Silvestro. The Swiss and her Austrian team-mate were relieved to see the finish line. “The team works hard and has been deprived of a good result far too often. With position seven we were finally able to show again that results in the front field and points are possible ", adds Klaus Bachler.

There were also points for Sven Müller and Robert Renauer, but the way there was anything but easy. Because Müller's fastest lap in qualifying was canceled, the race only started from 24th place. "From there I got off to a sensational start - even the top 10 were within reach," he reports. “I drove on the outside and passed a lot of opponents as a result. When the SSR-Porsche spun in front of me, however, I had to dodge through the gravel bed. With that, of course, my advantage was gone again. "

The duo finally finished the one-hour run in 13th place and thus in the points. “Thanks to a good strategy, we made up ground again with the driver change. Even so, the race went smoothly for us. If we had started from the front, we would have had the pace to achieve a top 5 result, ”Renauer sums up.

There will be a new chance from October 22nd to 24th when the ADAC GT Masters will be at the Hockenheimring.
