Trophies in Monza for Allied-Racing

Last weekend, the first round of the GT4 European Series took place in Monza. After intense preparation over the last weeks, we competed with our two Porsche GT4s:

The free practice sessions already showed that the pace was there. In a difficult Qualifying 1, both drivers (#22 Schaap and #44 Kristensen) had to abort their fastest laps due to a red flag and finally ranked P26 and P31. The second Qualifying ended for Wallace (#44) on P34 due to deleted lap times (track limits). Hartvig (#22) secured the third row grid position (P6). The Porsches were 0.6s off pole, which prompted the organiser to adjust the BOP and slow BMW, Audi and Aston Martin down a bit.

The duo of Hartvig/Schaap performed a sensational first race, moving up from P26 to P8 and securing solid points for the Silver Cup championship. Sister car Kristensen/Schaap also made up places, moving up to P20 and taking P2 in the ProAm Cup to claim their first podium of the season.

Starting from the third row, the #22 (Hartvig/Schaap) took P4. Both drivers performed very consistently without exception. Nathan Schaap celebrated P1 in the Rookie classification. Due to some bumping and a resulting puncture, Kristensen had to pit for a tyre change in the second half of the race and therefore unfortunately had to give up all chances of a good result.

All in all: a very successful start! We are particularly proud that our Allied Racing Junior Academy drivers Kristensen and Schaap were able to meet our expectations! With Hartvig, we have a strong Allied-Racing Young Professional as well, who is able to deliver a continuously very good performance. The driver training programme is bearing fruit!

The GT4 European Series will start on six race weekends in the framework of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS:
