Will Aspin welcomes Attis as 2023 partner with Carrera Cup title the target

Will Aspin is set to undertake his second season in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, completing a deal to return to the series with Team Parker Racing, after scoring a Pro-Am victory in his debut campaign last year.

The teenager, who hails from Florence in Italy, is competing this year thanks to a new partnership with Attis, a client focussed insurance broker, that is driven by its mission of ‘who cares wins’, which works with businesses to protect their balance sheets.

Will made the big step up to the Carrera Cup GB last season, quickly acclimatising himself with the powerful Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992) and putting in a series of impressive performances, including victory in tricky conditions at Brands Hatch, where he finished an impressive fifth overall in the process.

This winter, Will also took part in the inaugural Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe season, held across three top-class circuits in Spain and Portugal. After victory in the opening race, he showed good speed and promise, though some bad luck and technical gremlins meant his finishing positions failed to reflect the hard work that had been put in.

The 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season opens this weekend at Donington Park in Leicestershire, where the 18-year-old will have two practice sessions on Thursday, April 20th, before qualifying on Saturday, 22nd. There will be two 24-lap races on Sunday, scheduled for 12:10 and 16:30, both of which being broadcast live in the UK on ITV4.

“I'm very excited to be back with Team Parker Racing as I was really happy with how we worked together last season, so there was no reason to change. We've partnered with Attis for this season, which is exciting for everyone involved and I can’t wait to start to repay their faith in me. I am also incredibly grateful to Spencer Group, Kirk Nielsen Group, and Burnley Wilson Fish for their support this year as well.

“We learned a lot from the Winter Series which should put us in good stead for the Carrera Cup. For example, at Barcelona we were leading the race and were one of the fastest cars there, before an unfortunate electrical issue which knocked us back. Despite that we took a lot away from that weekend and the series, like learning how to be smoother with the steering, throttle, and braking, and being able to put it all together in the right way.

“We'll be taking that into the Carrera Cup this season, where our aim is to win the Pro-Am championship and maybe be up there with some of the Pros every once in a while, but that would be a bonus. I'm looking forward to round one and the rest of the season, so we can really start capitalising on what we learned from last year.”
