Allied Racing will return to the GT4 European Series this year with a two-pronged Porsche attack, fielding a brand-new 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in both the Silver Cup and Pro-Am classes.

The German squad has been a major player in the GT4 European Series in recent years, having entered the championship every year since 2015. For the 2022 campaign, Allied will bring three of its promising Junior Academy drivers to the European stage with Danish driver Alexander Hartvig and German Moritz Wiskirchen crewing its Silver Cup entry, and karting graduate Vincent Andronaco set for his first full season of GT racing.

The Pro-Am car will be raced by team CEO Jan Kasperlik and Andronaco, who graduates to the GT4 European Series after a successful domestic karting career in Germany.

For the Silver Cup drivers, Hartvig (19) returns for his second GT4 European Series campaign, having become a Pro-Am race-winner at the wheel of an Allied Porsche last season on his way to seventh in the Pro-Am Championship. Wiskirchen (19) steps up to a full season of European competition having competed in GT4 Germany with Allied last year, finishing fifth in the Junior standings. He made his GT4 European Series debut at the Nürburgring last season. Both drivers will also take part in the full ADAC GT4 Germany season alongside their GT4 European Series commitments.

The Pro-Am entry pairs seasoned racer Kasperlik with rising star Andronaco. Kasperlik won the GT4 European Series Pro-Am title in 2020 before moving on to compete in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS last season. 16-year-old Andronaco had already recorded three German karting titles before joining Allied’s Junior Academy, and made his GT racing debut at Hockenheim last year. Andronaco will also compete in GT4 Germany this year around his European campaign.

Allied Racing CEO Jan Kasperlik said: “We are following our junior concept consistently with a young pairing in the Silver Cup class with Moritz and Alex, but we fully trust that they will put up a hard fight for the championship. For the Pro-Am car we have Vincent stepping up to GT racing for the first time. He already has strong pace and we will see how we can develop him. 22 is my lucky number so we are hoping the 2022 season is also a lucky year for us with this being our seventh year in the GT4 European Series, and we’re hoping to bring a championship back to Allied Racing.”

The two-car GT4 European Series entry comes as part of a huge 2022 racing programme for the Allied team, which will field a total of 15 racing Porsches across various championships this season, including the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, the ADAC GT Masters and the German, French and Swiss Porsche Carrera Cups.
