AVIA and W&S Motorsport compete together for the second season

The successful racing team of Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas will continue to contest in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) and the ADAC GT4 Germany together with the energy retailer and petrol station operator AVIA in 2023. As in the first year of the cooperation, AVIA W&S Motorsport will compete in the NLS with two Porsche in AVIA racing design for the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring (PETN). In the ADAC GT4 Germany, the AVIA racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport will fight for championship points.

With the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 992, the team from Swabia succeeded in securing the championship trophy in the Cup2 class of the one-make cup last year. Regular driver Daniel Blickle was also the PETN drivers' champion and second-best driver in the NLS overall standings. Who will drive the fast racing car from Weissach in Cup2 in the 2023 season will be announced shortly. Likewise, who will take a seat in the cockpit of the AVIA racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS to attack in the Cup3 class.

In the 2022 ADAC GT4 Germany AVIA W&S Motorsport was able to achieve numerous top results. At the season finale at the Hockenheimring, the AVIA racing driver duo of Finn Zulauf and Lukas Schreier put an exclamation mark on their performance, taking third overall in the first race on Saturday and overall victory in the hard-fought series in the final race of the season on Sunday. Finn Zulauf achieved third place in the overall junior classification.

Stephan Hauke, responsible for sports marketing at AVIA: "The successes of AVIA W&S Motorsport in their first year of joint racing were remarkable and confirmation for AVIA that we have chosen the right team. Thrilling duels, which received a lot of media attention, were rewarded with victories and top results. W&S Motorsport represents the brand pleasantly, down-to-earth and at the highest level. The family atmosphere in the entire team, as well as the professional work of all departments is impressive. The driver crews have delivered strong performances including winning the PETN. I am looking forward to the upcoming NLS and ADAC GT4 Germany season together with the team of Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas and wish the squad all the best!"

Daniel Schellhaas, Team Principal W&S Motorsport: "We are very happy about the continuation of the cooperation with AVIA and we thank them for the trust they have placed in us. Our entire team will be going full throttle again in 2023 and will be fighting for points and titles both in the endurance races at the Nürburgring and in the strongly contested ADAC GT4 Germany. Knowing that AVIA is a reliable partner at our side cannot be taken for granted under the current market conditions and is very much appreciated. I am sure that our drivers, supported by the whole team, will again achieve top results and represent the AVIA brand accordingly."
