Class acts for the first virtual multi class Porsche Race
The Porschesport virtual endurance is ready to face its first-ever race with an impressive line-up of 41 VIP teams. Drivers from both the real racing world and sim world representing over 10 countries competing at this special event. The 2 Hours of Silverstone takes places this Friday 24th April at the home of British motorsport, Silverstone Circuit.
“This event as been in the pipeline for sometime, it’s something we have discussed in detail in the Porschesport office and we’re delighted to showcase the event. We made the decision to bring the event forward under the current circumstances with no motor racing happening. Fortunately, this has allowed many professional motorsport drivers to sign up to this event and test their skills against a high calibre of sim racers in four classes of Porsche” - Luke , Media & PR.
At the front of the field, the LMP1 class looks very competitive; Job van Uitert will run in the G-Drive Racing Eximia whilst the SimracersworldTV car will feature Maarten van Loozenoord & Jeroen Kweekel . Simracersworld eSports will see Bart Daelman & Nick Schurmans take the wheel. Three drivers will run as solos, Pete Harrod for Puresims Esports, Aleksi Laine in the Fiercely Forward machine & Chris Walsh driving for PCA Sim Racing. Banzoo Racing will feature Tito Granja & Juan Manuel Santabaya.
The beautiful Porsche 911 RSR class will certainly be one fans will want to watch. The Dutch Porsche Benelux Junior driver Loek Hartog will test his skills against the likes of Max Root, another young Porsche driver currently racing for Wright Motorsports in the USA. The well respected former UK Clio Cup driver Max Coates will team up with Bradley Burns. Fresh from securing the top two positions at the 1000 miles of Interlagos, SimRC will trust Jürgen Frank & Felix Luding to bring back more trophies. Event sponsors Strasse Motorsport field Carl Sharkley & Mark Phillips and Simon Underhill & Barry Baird will race the NOMAD Sim Racing. Bram van Putten in the G-Drive Racing Eximia GTE will take on the 2 hours solo along with PJ Claeysens for Meraki Racing. Further solo drivers include Seb Hawkins for Abruzzi Esports Orange and sister car Abruzzi Esports Pink driven by Zeb Teunissen. Jordan L McGlone for Team Simpact Racing & Brian Holmes will complete the solo runners in the GTE class.
In what many are calling the most competitive class on the grid, the GT3 featuring the 911 Cup Car is jam packed with VIP names and racers. Porsche Carrera Cup UK driver Esmee Hawkey will join a hugely busy GT3 Grid. Race partners Simracrersworld Esports will feature Gregory Vranckx & Mathias Detige whilst the sister car hands drives to Ruben Van Buel & Stijn Van Buel. The well known Youtube and Club 100 Karter Super GT will run solo in his R4M Factory Squad car along with Tom Metherell and Lewis Ward both racing for Meraki Racing. HM Engineering fresh from a superb win at 12hours of Suzuka will see Kieran Harrison take the 911 Cup seat and the sister car driven by Jordan Weekes. Strasse Motorsport will hope Josh Camm can continue his winning form after a LMP2 victory at the 2.4Hours Le Mans hosted by Simracersworld TV. Steve Claeys will be in the G-Drive Racing Eximia Cup car and Adam McNally will drive for Xite iRacing Blue. Rounding up the the GT3 class is Kobe Claes & Glenn Van Parijs sharing the wheel for DXX Pro Assist.
The final class features the Porsche 718 Cayman and a full grid of solo entries. The Racers Group field two cars with professional driver Derek DeBoer and Spencer Pumpelley in the sister car. Le Mans LMP2 Winner, Martin Plowman, will showcase his skills in the GT4 and HM Engineering will field another strong driver line up with Maxim Ramsteijn and Norbert Leitner in the sister car. Liam Silkstone will take the wheel for Xite iRacing Orange and Ben Thaens G-Drive Racing Eximia GT4. Oli Slade will add to a competitive Fiercely Forward line up whilst Ingemaar Anderson will showcase his skills in the G-Drive Racing Eximia. Louis Hancke will round off what is set to be a very competitive field.
