Marçal Muller and Marcelo Tomasoni win the Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard at Velocitta

The Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard opened its second stage with two very busy races on the Velocitta. For the Carrera Cup, Marçal Müller pulled well at the start, jumped from third to the lead and drove car #544 to the checkered flag. Werner Neugebauer started second, finishing in the same position, while pole pole Nicolas Costa finished third. Costa maintains the leadership of the championship with the result.

In the Sport class, victory went to Lucas Salles, who placed fifth overall. But the lead is Georgios Frangulis. Victory in the Rookie class went to Gustavo Farah, and the subchampionship is led by Edu Guedes after three races in 2023.

In the Sprint Challenge Marcelo Tomasoni won for the second time in the year, taking Cristian Mohr from the top of the points table. The #5 Porsche competitor overtook pole position Antonella Bassani when braking the Corkscrew on the first lap and drove to victory.

The 16-year-old finished second, having earlier written her name in category history as the first woman to take pole position in the history of the Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard. Urubatan Jr, Mohr and Gustavo Zanon completed the podium - this one also lifting the victory in the Sport class. The Rookie winner was Israel Salmen. In the sub-championships, Antonio Junqueira appears in the lead in Sport and Salmen is the first in Rookie.

The inverted grid races take place this Sunday. The drawing of two categories after the podium ceremonies determined the inversion of six positions. Thus, Alceu Feldmann starts from pole in the Carrera Cup and Antonio Junqueira in the Sprint Challenge. The first race of the day is the Carrera Cup, with a start scheduled for 12:40 pm. The races are shown live by Band, Sportv channels and official digital media of the Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard.

Sprint Challenge Round 1 summary on Velocitta

The peloton was misaligned for the start and the pole Antonella Bassani maintained the lead. Marcelo Tomasoni pressed hard from the second corner and managed to overtake Saca Rolha when braking.

The first lap was closed by Tomasoni, Antonella, Urubatan, Mohr and Gustavo Zanon, in fifth, leading Sport. For the Rookie class, the leadership was Israel Salmen, in 11th overall.

On the fourth lap Antonio Junqueira passed Zanon for the last position on the overall podium and leadership in the Sport class. On the sixth lap, the #33 came back, thanks to a precise dive under braking at turn 1.

Halfway through the race, when a warning came on the timing screen that the start would be evaluated by the commissioners after the checkered flag, Mohr crossed the brakes at turn 1 when trying to overtake Urubatan. He had to go to the run-off area, also losing position to Zanon. #33 then took the attack on #1.

On lap 12 Mohr came back, regaining position on Zanon.

Tomasoni controlled the margin of about 2s over Antonella until the final minute, when the #72 driver pulled over. Israel Salmen, who was in tenth leading the Rookie, spun but managed to return without damage.

Antonella pressured Tomasoni to the finish line, but the flag was won by #5. Urubatan closed the race in third, Mohr in fourth and Zanon in fifth. Salmen crossed the finish line in 12th, winning for the first time in Rookie.
