Miguel Paludo equals winning record in the Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard and leaves Velocitta in the lead

On the 18th anniversary of the Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard, a new record was written on the Velocitta track. Miguel Paludo triumphed for the 39th time in the event, equaling Constantino Junior's number of victories. The result catapulted the seven-time champion to the top of the Carrera Cup championship and added to his list of statistics. The Porsche #7 driver is the biggest winner of the category in Velocitta and won at least one race in every season he accelerated the most produced competition cars on the planet.

Alceu Feldmann finished second and is the new deputy leader. Winner in the opening stage of the season at Interlagos, Nicolas Costa abandoned Sunday's race and now appears fourth in the points table, tied with Marçal Muller, winner on Saturday in Mogi Guaçu.

Victory in Carrera Sport went to Franco Giaffone and leadership in the championship remains with Georgios Frangulis, who makes his most consistent career in the Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard at the beginning of this season. He is sixth overall, behind only the four competitors who have already won races in 2023 and Werner Neugebauer.

In the Rookie division, the winner was Gustavo Farah, who boasted the Velocitta stage and rose to second place in the subchampionship, behind Edu Guedes.

On the anniversary of the Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard, Antonio Junqueira won the Sprint Challenge race for the first time with the #16 Porsche. The pilot chose his numeral in honor of his daughter's birth date, April 16th. And he celebrated the girl's one year anniversary with a pair of trophies, as she won both the overall and the Sport class. In the Rookie class, victory went to Eric Santos.

The Porsche Cup C6 Bank Mastercard is back in action in four weeks for the opening Endurance Series at Interlagos.

“A very intense test. I tried to be cautious at the start and attack afterwards, we left here with the victory. It's the achievement of all work, I didn't know about the victory record and I'm very happy with the leadership in the championship”
Miguel Paludo

“It was a positive stage, a good quali with P3 and the victory yesterday in the race that distributes more points. Today I didn't have a good pace, but I also managed a good result with this P4. We will do the math to see how we do in the championship, but focus on the next stages.”
Marçal Muller

“It was a good race, I started from the middle of the pack, I'm not very lucky in the first races of the year and I needed to score. I still suffered a position that I didn't agree with, but the car was great, I started well, I positioned well and the result came in a surprising way! I didn't imagine starting 16th and finishing fifth overall, winning the category.”
Franco Giaffone

“Yesterday, in fact, I said that the victory was the result of hard work. Today we had a mixture of luck and a lot of dedication, because we need to be in the right place and do everything the right way, at the right pace. So when luck comes we are ready to seize the opportunity. And that's what happened here. I am very happy”
Gustavo Farah

“We got off to a great start to the season! Vitória and P2 at the opening and two P2 here at Velocitta! When I saw Franco, who started back there, he had passed, I thought about the championship and stopped competing. I'm always in doubt whether to enter the dispute or think in the long term for the championship. Cesar Ramos and Carrapatoso thought it prudent to think about the championship, especially after Salles dropped out of contention and let him go. Focus on being champion and doing well in the dispute in the last stages.”
Georgios Frangulis

“Today is a very special day, my daughter is one year old and I am happy with the victory here. Thanks to Mom for changing the date of the birthday party”
Antonio Junqueira

“We totally got the car set up wrong. What was good yesterday, we tried to change it because of the heat and it went bad. When I saw that those in contention for the title were left behind, I understood that third place was great and I brought the car home. For the championship it was very important. Today was a test of a lot of mind, because the car was not as cool as yesterday.”
Marcelo Tomasoni

“Super happy with my evolution as a whole during the weekend. It was my first time at this track, the first time I rode in the rain with him and I think it was a stage where I learned a lot. Great to still be awarded the victory.”
Eric Santos

“The day was very difficult. The track was very hot and I had a lot of trouble really holding the car on the track. But I definitely needed to enter the championship here and score a lot. Now we will have more emotion to compete for the championship.”
Gustavo Zanon
