Porsche Sprint Trophy Thailand concludes 2024 with GT4 title success and multiple podiums throughout the season
Another thrilling campaign of Porsche Sprint Trophy Thailand action finished on Sunday in Buriram, as AAS Motorsport’s Kantadhee Kusiri sealed the Thailand Super Series GT4 title.
The season got underway at the Chang International Circuit where AAS Motorsport’s Kantadhee Kusiri came second in the opener and then went one better on Sunday, securing a dominant GT4 victory.
He would lead home the #95 2W Zoomies pair of Prakhun Phornprapha and Warren Adulayavichitr and #26 B-Quik Absolute Racing’s Henk Kiks and Erwin de Smit to round out a superb Porsche 1-2-3.
In the GTM class, Simon Chan earnt a podium in the #10 Fire Monkey Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (922), completing a strong opening weekend for the marque.
The series then headed for the streets of Bangsaen as Henk Kiks and Erwin de Smit took overall GT4 victory in the first round of the event, as Simon Chan also clinched the GTM win.
Prakhun Phornprapha and Warren Adulayavichitr would pick up a third GT4 podium of the campaign, with Kmik Karnasuta and Nattachak Hanjitkasem earn a GTM podium for the AAS Motorsport team at the tight and tricky beachside circuit.
A double-header around the popular Sepang International Circuit awaited as Kusiri claimed another podium success in Race 1 before Round 6 was postponed due to bad weather conditions.
The historic fourth weekend of the campaign saw the first ever night race as well as a three-race schedule, to make up for Round 6’s cancellation. Phornprapha and Adulayavichitr would secure their first victory of the season with an impressive showing in the #95 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.
Under the floodlights it would be a double success for AAS Motorsport as Kantadhee Kusiri and Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak, in the #18 machinery, crossed the line first in the GT4 category, while Kmik Karnasuta and Munkong Sathienthirakul claimed the GTM honours in a stunning team display.
Round 6 saw the #18 crew pick up another podium, clinching their third Am class victory of the weekend in the third race of the weekend.
After hosting the opener, the Chang International Circuit would also stage the finale, where AAS Motorsport clinched another double victory across the GTM and GT4 categories on Saturday.
Before on Sunday, securing the Thailand Super Series GT4 crown with Kantadhee Kusiri as, alongside Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak, they crossed the line third which was enough to seal the title in excellent fashion.
Kmik Karnasuta and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak added another podium success to their campaign, while Fire Monkey Motorsport’s Simon Chan finished in fourth.
