The race 13
With his Porsche 99X Electric, Pascal Wehrlein, who narrowly missed the Super Pole qualifying, started the race from seventh position on the grid. On the 2.25-kilometer route, on which the 24 electric cars drove partly through an exhibition hall, he made up a place with a solid performance. Due to the disqualification of a competitor, he finally came in fifth. His team-mate André Lotterer tackled the 13th race of the season from starting position 16 and fought his way up to ninth place with a remarkable chase to catch up. When he and a competitor touched before Turn 1 in the second half of the race, he received a drive-through penalty. As a result, he fell back and was classified seventeenth at the finish.

Quotes about the London E-Prix, Race 13

Amiel Lindesay, Head of Operations Formula E:
“That was an exciting race, typical for this narrow and winding track. It wasn't easy today, so Pascal did a very good job. We can be satisfied with the second top 5 result at our race premiere in London. André started from one of the back rows, but almost made it into the points with his strong race to catch up. Unfortunately, the drive-through penalty deprived him of the wages he had earned for his good performance. All in all, we are taking a lot of positive things from London to the season finale in Berlin. The world championship is still open. At our home races we want to bring the season to a successful conclusion for us. "

Pascal Wehrlein, Porsche works driver (# 99):“That was already an increase today. That was also due to qualifying. I almost made it to Super Pole. As far as the race is concerned, you walk a fine line on this track, as the many collisions have shown. Overtaking is difficult and the risk of damaging your car is very high. It was important for me to get through well and take away as many points as possible. We're still fighting for the title. Now we're all looking forward to Berlin. "

André Lotterer, Porsche works driver (# 36):“I'm not satisfied with my qualifying. In the race, however, my car worked great and I was able to gain a few positions. However, the drive-through penalty abruptly stopped my chase. Fourth yesterday, seventeenth today - this is always possible in Formula E. Overall, London was a good weekend for us. That makes me confident for the final races in Berlin. ”

This is how it continues
The next event for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team is on the 14th and 15th. August the Berlin E-Prix with the season finale (14th and 15th round) of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

Porsche in Formula E.
With the Porsche 99X Electric, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team will contest its second season in Formula E in 2021. André Lotterer made a successful racing debut in November 2019 when he finished second in the season opener in Diriyah. A tailor-made debut and proof that Porsche had a competitive vehicle at the start with the Porsche 99X Electric. This was impressively underlined by the first pole position in Mexico City and another second place in the home race in Berlin. Formula E is the world's first fully electric racing series and, as an accelerator for innovative and sustainable mobility technologies, has been bringing exciting motorsport to people in the metropolises since 2014. This season, in which a driver and team world champion is being crowned for the first time, there are more automobile manufacturers at the start than in any other racing series. The races are correspondingly interesting and highly competitive.
