W&S Motorsport to compete in 2023 GT4 European Series with three Porsche Cayman GT4 RS

W&S Motorsport will compete in the 2023 GT4 European Series with three Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and a strong international driver line-up. The team from the Swabian region led by team bosses Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas was able to impress as European champions in the AM class in the SRO racing series in 2022 and aims to build on this triumph in the upcoming season.

"After making our debut in the GT4 European Series in 2022 and achieving strong results all the way to the class title, we not only want to build on those results this year, but do even better," explains team boss Daniel Schellhaas. He emphasises: "The competition in the series is very tough and exactly the challenge we are looking for and love. With proven drivers as well as strong new additions to the team, we can achieve the goals we have set ourselves, all the way to winning the title. Our entire team is well prepared and highly motivated. We are looking forward to the racing action on exciting tracks all over Europe!"

Full grid and top tracks await the drivers in the GT4 European Series

A field of up to 50 GT4 cars from nine manufacturers, lined up with internationally experienced racers awaits the drivers of W&S Motorsport in the GT4 European Series. The German duo formed in 2022 consisting of Max Kronberg and Hendrik Still will again fight together for championship points in 2023 in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport in the Pro-Am classification. Kronberg and Still will once again be competing together and want to put the experience they gained last year into practice in order to regularly achieve top results in the new season.

The work in the cockpit of the second Porsche Cayman GT4 in the Pro-Am classification is shared by Charles Dawson from Great Britain and Gustavo Xavier from Switzerland. The Swiss with Brazilian roots already coached Dawson in the past and both were able to celebrate victories and podium finishes together.

W&S Motorsport is still offering driver places for the third GT4 car and is available to put together the right package for interested drivers.

The GT4 European Series, which is organised by the SRO Motorsports Group, races on six renowned circuits in Europe as part of the GT World Challenge Europe. In addition to Italy, France, Germany and Spain, the highlight of the season is the weekend in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, at the legendary 24-hour race in the Ardennes. Additionally, the series will host a six-hour race in Vallelunga, Italy, which doesn’t count towards the championship.

Max Kronberg, Driver W&S Motorsport: "I am really looking forward to another season with W&S Motorsport and Hendrik at my side. We gained a lot of experience last year in both GT4 championships and had some good results. The pace is there and we are very well prepared. The team works at the highest professional level and the Porsche has always been at the front. I think with the proven package of car, team and drivers we will be able to deliver strong results in the new season."

Hendrik Still, Driver W&S Motorsport: "I am very excited about extending our partnership together with Max and the crew of W&S Motorsport. It was my wish to extend the partnership and build on the progress we made together in the 2022 season. I am confident that as a team we can race even more consistently at the front of the GT4 European Series field and perhaps even have a say in the Pro-Am Championship title."

Charles Dawson, Driver W&S Motorsport: "I am very happy to be a part of W&S Motorsport and am looking forward to the start of pre-season testing so we can get to know the team and the car better. 2022 was my first season in motorsport, where Gustavo and me won a class championship in the NES500 series. However, this is a big step up and we must be realistic. Our aim is to gain experience for the 2024 season and consistently score points in our class."

Gustavo Xavier, Driver W&S Motorsport: "My anticipation for this season together with W&S Motorsport and Charles by my side is indescribable. Especially as I have been with Charles since his first day in motorsport, have worked very hard with him on the track since then and he has developed a lot. I think we are ready to take the step into the GT4 European Series. We will continue to increase the performance curve over the season and fight for points in Pro-Am from the first race."
