Porsche Cars Australia announces updated 2021 calendar and new rules

The new calendar sees a delay of seven weeks due to the current outbreaks before the series is scheduled to restart again on the 01-03 October. Round 5 is scheduled for Bass Coast Festival of Motorsport, from October 22-24, while the Bathurst 1000 moves to a 04-07 November time slot.

Carrera Cup Australia teams return to New South Wales (restrictions permitting) for the penultimate round at Sydney Motorsport Park on the 19-21 November before heading north to the Gold Coast in Queensland for the final round.

PCA has also been forced to postpone the 2021 Porsche Michelin Junior Training Workshop until February 2022. PCA will also announce a revised 2021 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge calendar in the coming weeks.

Porsche implements drop a round rules for 2021 Carrera Cup Australia season

Due to the COVID-19 related travel restrictions that were in place during Round 3 of the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship, Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) has invoked the drop a round rule for the Mobil Pro Class. As usual, competitors in the Morris Finance Pro-Am Class of the series continue to have access to drop a round rule for the 2021 season.

All results posted on the Porsche Carrera Cup website (carrreracup.com.au) from this point forward will reflect the Championship Points Standings based on each Competitor’s worst round being dropped.
