Top 10 finish on GT3 return to the Nordschleife

NLS

BLACK FALCON has returned to the GT3 stage at the eighth round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series with the Porsche 911 GT3 R (#19) of black FALCON Team IDENTICA. At the first race, despite a lot of bad luck in the preparation, the 10th place in the overall standings was booked. The BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR drove the Porsche Cayman GT4 (#970) to eighth place in the highly competitive CUP3 class.

With their first outing in the Porsche 911 GT3 R, Noah Nagelsdiek, Florian Naumann and Hendrik von Danwitz celebrated their GT3 debut at the eighth NLS race. After an accident during the roll-out, which required a complete rebuild of the car, the 911 GT3 R was completed early Saturday morning thanks to an effort by the mechanics and engineers and only completed the first laps in qualifying. The shortened qualifying session due to fog offered the drivers only one Nordschleife lap at a time to get used to the new car before their race. However, thanks to the good preparation that the trio went through with the Porsche 991 Cup MR, the three IDENTICA juniors quickly got along with the GT3 R. The trio brought the 911 safely to the finish line with a good and error-free performance. After four hours of racing, they crossed the finish line in tenth place overall, giving themselves and the BLACK FALCON Team IDENTICA a conciliatory result.

Alexander Akimenkov, "Iceman" and Vasilii Selivanov drove the Porsche Cayman GT4 (#970), the best NLS result of the season to date in the always highly competitive and most participatory class, the Porsche Cayman GT4 Trophy. The trio completed a strong race with consistently fast lap times and many duels worth seeing. In the end, they rewarded their good performance with the excellent eighth place in the class.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup MR (#350) started in the SP-PRO class with Paul Harkema and Tobias Müller. The duo impressed with very strong lap times and were in an excellent position within striking distance of the top 10 until shortly before the end of the race, before the Cup MR had to be parked due to a material defect and a resulting technical defect.

Timo Frings, Head of Motorsport at BLACK FALCON:

"With the return to GT3 racing at the Nordschleife, we received a lot of attention at the weekend. Unfortunately, the re-entry took place under very unfavorable conditions. Through an enormous effort, we built a completely new car in less than two weeks, which pushed the entire team to its limits. The car was then finished on race day only in the early morning hours, unfortunately our setup was still suboptimal without any test runs and experience in advance. With tenth place in the overall standings, we celebrated a solid start, with the driver and team having significantly more potential. I'm particularly proud of our three IDENTICA juniors – the guys have never moved the car on the Nordschleife before today's qualifying and still made it over the distance without any mistakes or scratches. In the CUP3 we were very good with Alexander, Iceman and Vasilii and achieved a great result. It's a pity that the good performance of Paul and Tobias in the Cup MR was not rewarded, the two harmonized super and were also on top 10 course.

We will now make intensive use of the two weeks until NLS 9 and return to the season finale with a strong package."
